A "get well" gift for Leigh
October 2015, my husband and myself along with 4 other friends went on the trip of a lifetime: a Viking Cruise from Basel, Switzerland to Amsterdam, Netherlands. I hope future paintings will reflect some of the scenes we saw there. While in Amsterdam, we visited the Van Gogh Museum, and I was in awe standing in front of the work of some of the great masters. I came home and just had to paint my versions.

Cuba

On July 20, 2015, when the US and Cuba restored diplomatic relations, I decided to do a painting of Havana:

Christmas and other gifts, 2014

Fall of 2014 arrived, and since I was all caught up with my stained glass jobs, it was time to consider gifts for friends and relatives. I think they like them!
Riverside Cabin, Oriental, NC 11 X 14 on canvas board in wood frame.
A gift for Jon and Joy

I drove to Oriental, NC and walked
out on this dock to take pictures. Then I used one I had of my son in his boat from the shore side and just painted it in reverse. The water end of the dock lost some perspective and correctness, as I could not get out in the water to take the pictures without a boat and did not want to ruin the surprise by asking my son to take me. Oh well, call it Impressionism. Hehehe...

Aspen Trees in Autumn, 12 X 16 on Canvas
A gift to Jenna and Jay
I have another one like this for $75.

Mandarin Duck, 8 X 10 on canvas board
A gift for Rosemary
One is available on canvas, framed: $139.
Cardinal on Snowy Branches, 11 X 13 on canvas board
A gift for Carole
Similar one, framed, $39

After a Long Absense

Sunrise, 12 X 12 acrylic on canvas $50.

Well, it was a long time between paintings, due to previous commitments to do 4 stained glass projects for Visions In Glass customers. But in the Fall of 2014, I was free and clear and ready to continue with my painting. I decided to turn to a lovely book on Charming Seaside Scenes by Jacqueline Penney to get inspiration for these.

Beach Walk 12 X 16 acrylic on canvas $75.

January 2014

Although it was only January, Spring must have been in the air as I went crazy painting acrylic flowers:

The two above were supposed to be "practice" for this series.

A few paintings under my belt and I think I'm good enough to start giving them as gifts. LOL

This Gerbera Daisy was a gift for a friend's birthday. The party was that night, and I didn't have a gift, so I painted one! This is fun....
